Since we are on the subject of failed Railroad operators another aspect of our infrastructure that is an ultimate fail is bridges:
“Nearly 60000 US bridges are literally falling apart ”
[the super rich don’t travel like peasants, they only need roads to conduct their business and any losses from stuff traveling by truck and rail has insurance, America’s failing infrastructure isn’t really a priority for Washington]

Both the Democratic and Republican parties are licking the boots of the likes of Boeing, General Dynamics, Raytheon, and Lockheed Martin. Look at the image if you don’t believe me.

Terence McKenna
"We have technological power, the engineering skills to save our planet, to cure disease, to feed the hungry, to end the war; But we lack the intellectual vision the ability to change our minds. We must decondition ourselves from ten thousands years of bad behavior. And, it is not easy."
"Terence Kemp McKenna was an American ethnobotanist and mystic who advocated for the responsible use of naturally occurring altered state plants. He spoke and wrote about a variety of subjects, including plant-based entheogens, shamanism, metaphysics, alchemy, language, philosophy, culture, technology, environmentalism, and the theoretical origins of human consciousness."

“Ecosystem collapse ‘inevitable’ unless wildlife losses reversed
“The steady destruction of wildlife can suddenly tip over into total ecosystem collapse, scientists studying the greatest mass extinction in Earth’s history have found.
Many scientists think the huge current losses of biodiversity are the start of a new mass extinction. But the new research shows total ecosystem collapse is “inevitable”, if the losses are not reversed, the scientists said.”

Just a thought,…
Politicians have mortgage commitments. The have a lifestyle they’ve grown accustomed to. Since, we have lost free and fair elections, yet want policy that is contrary to those who’ve rigged the system, if we want action that is beneficial for the poorest 99%, for our human health infrastructure (the environment) and for our children’s future, then we should stand ready to bail out the politicians who are essentially evicted from the system for acting constitutionally.

Somebody get me a shovel,…
Lies, damn lies, misrepresentations, spin and then there are statistics:
“3.4 % Unemployment”
Different statistics offer different insight under different circumstances. What a statistic once represented changes and otherwise no longer represents what it used to. One way this can happen is circumstances occur that negate the properties the statistic used to accurately represent. For instance, today it rained and last month it snowed so therefore California agriculture is doing well.
This can and does happen with the unemployment rate.
Historically, there has been times when the collective din of the economy’s constituent parts has made the rate of unemployment a good indicator of labor’s prosperity. That is not the case today.
First off, there are many different ways to calculate the unemployment rate each with their own unstated assumptions and limitations.
This number is without consequence. It is no longer a statistic that, if low, accurately represents the poorest 99% having a positive economic and social experience. Low unemployment is not a definitive indication that the vast majority of Americans’ overall welfare is positive or better had unemployment been higher. Worse still privatization, like the posts service, “creates” jobs in the private sector by moving them over from the governmental sector.
I won’t rant any further. In closing, ‘adding to the total number of slaves, does not increase the lot of all slaves.’ And if the slaves are engaged in effectively working toward their own suicide or suicide of their economic, social or quality of life position, the rate of unemployment misrepresents labor’s true experience.
