10/2021 "Monoculture farming is amplifying the prevalence of parasites in bees."

Democrats and Republicans don’t care:

“Seen but not heard: Why children's rights are at the very heart of the climate crisis”

“With environmental factors responsible for the deaths of 1.7 million children under 5 - particularly in sub-Saharan Africa - the need to act now is paramount.”

America’s Democracy suffers when our politicians are left unpoliced. For instance, McConnell, Collins, and Graham all claimed re-election based on radically improbable as well as patently impossible election results, but Democrats did nothing and now McConnell and kin continue to deliver a thousand small cuts. Another example of unenforced law breaking by elected officials is Krysten Sinema’s “other income” in excess of 15%, but again, she continues to be allowed participation in our government:

“The most important principle for designing an ethical society is to make sure that everyone’s reputation is on the line all the time; so that bad behavior will always bring bad consequences.” Jonathan Haidt, “The Righteous Mind”

“In 2019, 10.5% of households in the United States had concerns about their food running out before they could afford to buy more. Some were also worried about being unable to afford balanced meals. Food insecurity was highest among people with obesity, which is likely because the cheapest foods are often the least healthy. #WorldFoodDay

“Food insecurity in the US increasingly linked to obesity”

“Nearly 23% of people with obesity in the United States have reported food insecurity, compared with 15% of people with moderate weight. This association with obesity has doubled since 1999–2000, according to a recent analysis of trends in food insecurity.”

“This is Bob

Bob gets $1500 a year in Food Stamps to help feed his family

This is Shell [Oil]

Shell gets $2,000,000,000 a year subsidies granted by the government because it has excellent lobbyists.

It’s to shut up about bob”

“She's baaaaack. La Niña is official for this winter. What does that mean for you?”

"We’ve already seen one likely effect of La Niña this year—a more active Atlantic hurricane season, with nearly twice as many storms as average so far this year. But the most substantial La Niña effect on North American rain, snow, and temperature happens during winter. In summary, La Niña winters tend to be drier and warmer across the southern third of the U.S., and cooler in the northern U.S. and Canada. The Pacific Northwest, the Tennessee/Ohio Valleys, and parts of the Midwest tend to see more rain and snow than average."

Custer with a boat:

“The Indians are so naïve and so free with their possessions that no one who has not witnessed them would believe it. When you ask for something they have, they never say no. To the contrary, they offer to share with anyone.” “They would make fine servants…With fifty men we could subjugate them all and make the do whatever we want.” Christopher Columbus/Cristobal Colon
