Just as tree planting initiatives created mass graves for saplings, the paltry percent of set aside (in deference to $$$) ensures a staggering number of extinctions will still occur in and will very likely result in saving hardly any species from extinction. You can not declare that part of a dying whole will remain alive:

Technically correct at the Federal level [tax receipts don’t pay for government – they just print cash] and you should be applauded for knowing the difference. But in my defense please consider,
1.The problem of government resources being used in pursuit of what is essentially fascism, wealth concentration, or class war fare in general, is not unique to just the Federal government and happens at all levels of government. Even those lower levels of government where the simplification of “…our/your,…” tax dollars is entirely appropriate,
2.Cash is fungible – give a dollar to the government, for any reason, and that dollar is no different and arguably the very same dollar they gave to a person, corporation, or cause while acting in bad faith unconstitutional way that should anger you.
3.“…if it were not but for…” allows any and all American citizens to have a possessory interests in any and all that govt does, including the cash they produce when they issue currency. If it were not but for your consent to let them govern, they would not have access to any of it, be it tax revenue or the print press used to issue USD. And like it or not, our challenge you to prove that none of your federal tax dollars go to paying for the operation of any aspect of government.
Economics helps people understand what’s going on. And certain schools of economic thought can be and have been used to justify toxic government. But beyond explaining how things work and justifying class warfare ideology in favor of the rich, don’t lose sight of the substance and meaning of what is actually going on.

Ukraine and the East Palestine, Ohio toxic railroad spill are emblematic of the problem the masses face with today’s America.
Surfing on social media I came across a post sarcastically alleging that East Palestine, Ohio was going to rule to be part of Ukraine so they could get some federal aid to help cope with the Norfolk Southern mess.
And yes the two illustrate the same point. American Government and government’s resources are entirely at the disposal of wealthy special interests – not the little people - regardless of the consequences to the country or the nonrich.

Yes. It is true. The Democratic party in the US authored & sought approval of a law that would allow prison inmates to trade their organs for time off their sentence. At this writing, inmates can still choose NOT to participate in the exchange.
Orwell’s 1984 in the rear view mirror: is it wrong for Politicians & our Judiciary to force citizens to donate organs while they are still alive? What is appropriate compensation to give the donor?
