Carbon dioxide (CO₂) at Mauna Loa, Hawaii, reached a record average daily high of 422.88 parts per million (ppm) on February 28, 2023.
It is remarkable for CO₂ levels to already reach record high levels this early in the year, given that CO₂ levels typically reach their annual maximum in May, and this spells bad news for developments over the next few months.

The measured low sea water temperature this month is -2.4°C and the highest is 6.6°C.
