Let me apologize up front for what is invariably going to go down against the working, nonrich African People as a consequence of any of their governments getting in bed with America. But decent American's don't control or have any say in their own government.
Here's the atrocity-to-be so far:
Biden resisted COP27 ”Loss and Damage” fund but just announced Washington is going to spending $55 billion on a subset of the same countries who incurred damage that are in Africa. What’s the difference?!
How about a slew of stipulations$$$ requiring that the money the US gives them that is not part of the UN’s ‘loss and damage’ fund will be spent concentrating wealth with Western oligarchs as well as giving kickbacks to politicians in the form of ‘campaign donations’.
In other words, like Ukraine it’s just another money laundering scheme that turns working American taxpayer resources into campaign donations (and invariably gives a cut to assorted bad actors along the way). How many citizens of the country of Africa are going to die? How many are going to feel injustice and inequality? Who knows, but America's track record is about as bad as the prospects for its future prosperity.
Give the $55 billion to the ‘loss and damage’ fund to give to Africa and let the African countries receiving it decide how to spend it. If that's not possible ask china if they can match it before signing.

Let me add, that I hope people realize that if we don’t fix our Govt’s deadly, greenhouse gas, imperialistic, war making, and generally international sleazy ways there very likely will come a time soon that America, say, needs food or antibiotics and the international community is going to flip us off. Then it will be scores of working Americans who will end up paying the price for today’s craven mostly-geriatric leadership castes’ international asshole ways
One more time:
America has either pissed- off, ripped-off, or stuck with the bill & body count nearly all other countries in its decades long grift for prosperity and wealth concentration.
If working Americans think that at some point in the future we can count on another country coming to our aid as the planet continues to die they are WRONG.
As always the American 99% will end up paying for acts of the moneyed elite and their 2 party and 3 branches.
