Americans need to take a long hard look at what happened with the earthquake in Turkey.
Nothing mitigates disaster more than a Govt practicing constant conscientious stewardship of all aspects of society. That includes the state of it’s buildings, all manner of infrastructure (soft and hard) and preparedness for adversity.
If your country’s leadership is preoccupied with getting themselves rich - as is the case with authoritarians, dictators, and washington grifters - this will be the exact opposite of what you need to mitigate adversity when it hits.
